Can Your Local Customers Find You Online?

Woman with Magnifying GlassIf your answer is NO, then we would suggest that you get your website listed on the many Local Listings that are available online.

Do you know that there are 1,000,000,000 local searches that are currently being performed on Google on MONTHLY basis?

If you can tap into just 0.1% of these searches, what do you think this will do to your business? Doesn’t that mean your website will get visited by 1,000,000 local online searchers on MONTHLY basis? And if you can convert this searchers i.e. your website visitors with a mere 1% conversion rate, doesn’t this mean you will make 10,000 sales? Lets say you’re selling a product/service for $100. This would translate into $1,000,000 sales revenue monthly! And you can get all this revenue without having to increase your marketing and advertising budget!

So, if you’re serious about your business, it is imperative for you and your business to get found online by your local customers.

There are three main local listings that is imperative for your business website to get listed:

1) Google Places (used to be Google Local)

2) Yahoo Local

3) Bing Local

How Does this Local Search Work?

Let me give you an example. I will use Google Places (used to be Google Local) in this example.

Let’s say you have an accounting business that’s located in San Jose, CA.  There’s this potential customer in San Jose that has dire accounting need as he/she is tired of doing his/her own accounting and would like to outsource the work.

Which one do you think he/she would do? Open the yellow page book and start flipping through all the pages in there and pick an accounting provider with the nicest and colorful ad OR go to Google and try to find what he/she needs there?

Yes, you are correct. He/she would then go to Google and search for a local accounting firm by typing in “San Jose Accounting Service”, or “Accounting Service in San Jose” or “Accounting Company in San Jose”. Now, the question is, who does he/she find first – your business or your competitor’s business? How would you like it if you business shows up on Google Places as shown below?
